Inhouse Academy
IIn SCA we help companies build their own customized learning organizations.
The Approach of the Supply Chain Academy distinguishes 4 steps:
Step 1: Intake/Quick Scan
get an understanding of the potentials for improvement in your Supply Chain and specifically in the knowledge and skills of your employees, and the collaboration between all the levels of your organization. Result will be a concrete defined Supply Chain improvement route aligned with your organizational objectives.
Step 2: Program definition
shared definition of the actions to be executed to realize the potentials for improvement as defined in step 1. The program will be a set of projects with defined goals, resources, timelines.
Step 3: Projects execution
the employees are responsible for executing the projects, supported by the Academy. The Academy creates a safe and challenging environment including a periodic feedback on their progress. Your employees will grow in their skills and competences. They will be able to understand their contribution in the quality and the results of the processes they are involved in.
Step 4: Building a learning organization
Your employees are now armed with knowledge and experience. Within the Academy the skills are sharpened to coach their college’s in their development process, taking over the role of the external experts. Sharing knowledge will become common practice. Your organization has grown to a situation in which the Academy will become a corner stone of your learning organization. Your knowledge is embedded and value leakage by employees leaving is no longer an issue.
The content of the Academy program is focused on 3 management levels:
Top management, the “decision makers”:
Create awareness of what Supply Chain Management contributes for a company. From our high quality network of companies and universities we offer you top speakers who are fully aligned with our Academy concept. They will challenge your commitment to supply chain improvements.
Middle management, the “plan and control” level:
Create understanding of Supply Chain improvement processes. Their engagement can only be obtained when they know how to plan and control the processes that lead to customer satisfaction at lowest cost. The experienced trainers of the Academy will help them to get in-depth understanding through workshops, games and business cases.
The operational level, the “execution” level:
The Academy creates a safe environment in which employees openly share ideas / information and feel free to present their results.
The tools we use in our Academy are:
Games to enhance awareness: choose from a set of games guided by a guru in SCM, to get firsthand experience what Supply Chain Management can contribute to personal growth, process performance and profit.
Workshops to get in-depth understanding: based on existing frames, workshops are developed dedicated for your business and shared defined improvement areas. The participants will make business cases related to their own working environment. They will define and execute the action plans to realize the improvements. This means: “Learning by doing”.
Training sessions to improve knowledge and skills: based on available standard training material the customer will make choices which issues have to be worked out more in detail to secure successful improvement projects.
